– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

  Instructions:

   For the Cake:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, rub the orange zest into the granulated sugar using your fingers to release the orange flavor.

4. Add the softened butter to the sugar mixture and cream together until light and fluffy.

5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the plain yogurt, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

7. Stir in the fresh orange juice until the batter is smooth and well combined.

8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

9. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  For the Cardamom Syrup:

1. In a small saucepan, combine the water, granulated sugar, and crushed cardamom pods.

2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

3. Let the syrup simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.

  For the Orange Glaze:

1. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, fresh orange juice, and orange zest until you have a smooth glaze.

  Assembling the Orange Cardamom Cake:

1. Once the cake has cooled, use a skewer to poke several holes all over the top.

2. Drizzle the cardamom syrup over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.

3. Pour the orange glaze over the cake, letting it drizzle down the sides.
